NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre

NETSCC is based at the University of Southampton and manages the following research programmes:

While some of the research programmes share common themes and complement each other, they each have different specialist funding remits.

To receive regular news and funding opportunities for the above research programmes, please subscribe to our mailing list.

NETSCC also manages NIHR Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) Support Funding. CTU Support Funding provides units with flexibility to increase their capacity to support NIHR-funded projects and research funding applications. The expected result of this funding is an increase in the number of high-quality research applications submitted to NIHR programmes and supported projects.

Patient and Public Involvement

Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) is core to NETSCC’s review and commissioning process.

Engaging patients and members of the public in research leads to treatments that meet their needs, is more reliable and more likely to be put into practice. Find out more about how to get involved in research.

Researchers should go to Involving the public for ideas about how to involve patients and other members of the public.
