About the Faculty Implementation Group (FIG)

The Faculty Implementation Group (FIG) was convened in 2006 to ensure that the NIHR Faculty was successfully established to operate for the benefit of patients and the public, the NHS and its members.

The FIG was advised on an effective Faculty structure, the principles to apply in selecting its members, the financial implications, and the most effective way of managing the new Faculty and maintaining its quality.

FIG held five meetings between March 2006 and January 2007 and two papers from these meetings
Consultation of the Implementation of the NIHR Faculty and NIHR Faculty Implementation describe how the FIG informed implementation.

The FIG also held a consultation workshop on 20 June 2006 where stakeholders discussed Faculty implementation raising points which were taken into account as plans developed. More information about the workshop can be found in an
overview of the workshop, the note of the plenary and the list of attendees.
