Health Technology Assessment Programme - Researcher-led call

The HTA Programme is accepting applications to its researcher-led workstream in the areas of primary research and evidence synthesis. The deadline for applications is 1pm, 7 January 2015.

For this funding round, the programme are particularly interested in receiving high quality proposals on any aspect of mesothelioma, its prevention, earlier diagnosis, treatment or care (including palliative care) – where there are likely to be benefits for patients or their families. This is part of the NIHR-wide Themed Call on mesothelioma.

NIHR CLAHRC Northwest London - Call for eHealth projects

Closing date: 09 January 2015 Publish date: 27 November 2014

The aim of this call is for technology driven projects which aim to improve capacity in quality improvement across Northwest London. Funding will be awarded to projects which encourage, support and promote innovation within the sector.
 
Bids are invited from organisations and partnership consortia for up to £12,000 for each project and we aim to fund up to 6 projects.

Research for Patient Benefit Programme Competition 26 - invitation for applications

The NIHR Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) programme invites research proposals which are related to the day-to-day practice of health service staff and is concerned with having an impact on the health or well-being of patients and users of the NHS. As a responsive rather than a commissioning programme, RfPB does not seek to name specific topic areas and welcomes applications on a wide range of issues and aims to fund high quality research that will be directed at achieving benefit for users of the NHS in England. The programme supports applications which are regionally derived and applications which have emerged from interaction with patients and the public, which relate to patient and service user experience, and which have been drawn up in association with a relevant group of service users.

Blood and Transplant Research Unit competition 2015

A new, open competition to fund an NIHR Blood and Transplant Research Unit (NIHR BTRU) has now opened. NIHR BTRU will be a partnership between a university and NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), in Manufacture and Clinical Assessment of Cultured Red Cells. The NIHR BTRU will act as a centre of excellence in multidisciplinary research in support of NHSBT.

NIHR CLAHRC Northwest London - Call for research driven improvement projects

The Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) Northwest London is seeking bids for projects which implement an evidence based intervention into practice for the benefit of patients.  Projects will be supported to adopt the CLAHRC Northwest London systematic approach to quality improvement and research. 
 
CLAHRC Northwest London will aim to fund 3-6 projects up to £100k each over an 18 month period
Projects will be match funded from partner organisations.

Programme Grants for Applied Research - applications invited

The NIHR Programme Grants for Applied Research programme invites Stage 1 research proposals to develop individual programmes. Research funded through a Programme Grant typically consists of an interrelated group of high quality projects focused on a coherent theme and hence require multidisciplinary approaches, including clinical, health economics, statistics, qualitative and behavioural sciences, to ensure that research objectives can be met. The amount awarded and the length of the funding period will depend on the nature of the proposed work, in particular whether or not the proposal includes a substantial powered trial.

Programme Development Grants - Invitation for Applications

Closing date: 10 March 2015 Publish date: 09 December 2014

Applications are invited for Programme Development Grant funding. Programme Development Grants are designed to increase the rate and number of successful applications for a full Programme Grant by supporting the completion of the necessary preparatory work to suitably position the research team to submit a competitive Stage 2 Programme Grant application. Individual awards are for a maximum of £100k over a period of six to eighteen months. The amount of funding awarded, however, is determined by the scale and nature of the research activity to be conducted. Successful applicants, on completion of their development work, proceed straight to a Stage 2 Programme Grant application.
