We bring together communities of clinical practice, known as Specialties, in 30 therapeutic areas to provide national networks of research expertise and clinical leadership. Within each specialty area research-interested clinicians and practitioners work at both national and local levels to ensure the clinical trials and studies are delivered successfully.
What we do
Our Specialty members play a vital role in our feasibility services. If you engage with us early we can help you determine if your study is compatible with UK clinical practice and advise if it can be delivered successfully in the NHS. We can also can help identify barriers to recruitment, and come up with solutions and strategies to help overcome those barriers. Even if your study is already underway, we can help trouble-shoot issues and obstacles. Our aim is to increase your chances of delivering your study on time and meeting your recruitment target.
Across England we have 15 geographical localities. Each one has a nominated local lead for each therapeutic specialty, which makes up the national specialty membership. The local leads promote and support relevant research within the NHS Trusts in their area.
At a national level the local specialty leads meet regularly to support performance management of all studies within speciality area. This involves continually reviewing the progress of studies and taking action to ensure they stay on track.
