Access to Understanding, is a new science-writing competition for PhD students and early career researchers with an interest in communicating science to the public. It aims to raise awareness of the importance of opening up the results of scientific research, so that they are accessible to everyone. This free event, which is open to the public, will include presentations to the winners, a discussion about what makes a good lay summary, and an opportunity for audience questions.
