Research UnitsResearch Units include Policy Research Units, Academic Units and R&D Support Units. Two new units for a) interpreting diagnostic tests for healthcare and b) monitoring tests in primary care are being commissioned. The Research Units are funded to:
- Provide research-based expert advice
- Make sure research in priority areas is on-going
- Develop and manage patient-focused research in the NHS
Funding is provided for the Units and the research activity the Units carry out.
