Market Research
The NIHR IS Programme is providing ICT (Information and Communications Technology) support for the NIHR as a whole. It is developing a unified IT (Information Technology) systems architecture for researchers to underpin NHS research management.
Before the Programme procures specific goods and/or services we are keen talk with potential suppliers to understand, amongst other things, your capability to deliver the goods and/or services required. By "supplier", we mean any potential supplier of ICT goods or services (including advice) to the Programme. This includes private and public sector suppliers and organisations developing and deploying Open Source applications.
We have prepared a market research document which sets out our initial thoughts on what we want to procure, and how we intend to procure it. The views of potential suppliers will help us secure the most appropriate arrangements and ensure selected suppliers (public and/or private sector) will be comfortable with what needs to be delivered and how. It will also help us to ensure our procurements are as fast and simple for all parties as possible and make the best use of public funds.
We know time and effort will be needed in considering this paper. To minimise this we would prefer to discuss as many or as few of the questions as you might wish to address directly with you, as a potential supplier, rather than asking for written submissions.
Section 3 of the Market Research Paper refers to the NIHR Information Systems Enterprise Architecture document. This is also available for viewing and for information in advance of meetings with suppliers.
