Dr David King is Director of the NIHR Central Commissioning Facility (CCF).
David leads a staff of over 150 people based in Twickenham managing more than £450 million of research programme and infrastructure funding every year for the NIHR and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
Before joining CCF in 2008, David worked on the implementation of a number of NIHR funding schemes at DHSC, including the Biomedical Research Centres, the School for Primary Care Research, the former Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRCs) and Programme Grants for Applied Research.
Prior to that, David was the R&D Manager at the then North West London Hospitals NHS Trust for five years and also spent eleven years at the Medical Research Council's Head Office, including one year on secondment at Wellcome.
