Candace is Associate Director of Evidence and Dissemination at the NIHR Centre for Engagement and Dissemination. She oversees the Centre’s dissemination and knowledge mobilisation activity including the production of accessible summaries of important NIHR research findings.

Candace has over thirty years’ experience working in UK healthcare across all parts of the health system, including undertaking health research and developing health policy. She was Director of Policy at the Nuffield Trust from 2014 to 2019 and Deputy Director of Policy at The King’s Fund from 2009 to 2014. She researched and published on a wide range of topics, including workforce, future health care trends and service reconfiguration. Candace has extensive senior management experience in the NHS, including at board level for providers, commissioners and regulators. Candace worked on strategy and policy at the Department of Health between 2000 and 2006.

She holds a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Health Economics from Birmingham University and an undergraduate degree in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge.
