Dr José-Luis Fernandez
José-Luis is Director of the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Adult Social Care (ASCRU) and Director and Associate Professorial Research Fellow for the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre at the London School of Economics.
As a health and social care economist, José-Luis specialises in ageing-related policies, the analysis of health and social care funding systems, service productivities, the interaction between health and social care, and the economic evaluation of health and social care services.
In 2010, Dr Fernandez founded the International Long-term care Policy Network (ILPN), the largest network linking academics and policy-makers working on the analysis of long-term care.
Amongst others, he has advised bodies such as the English Department of Health, the UK Treasury, the UK Parliament Health Committee, the European Union, WHO and the World Bank.
