Professor Tracey Sach

Professor Tracey Sach is Chair of the East of England Regional Advisory Committee for the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit Programme.

Tracey is Professor of Health Economics in the Health Economics Group at Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia. She has 20 years’ experience of applying health economics in multidisciplinary research, having trained at the University of York and University of Nottingham.

Tracey’s main research focus is on evaluating interventions in economic evaluations conducted alongside clinical trials in order to help inform health care decision making. Key areas of interest include the application of economics to dermatology, falls and vocational rehabilitation. Tracey is a member of the UK Health Economics Study Group and International Health Economics Association.

Tracey’s collaborative research has been awarded research grants of over £15 million and has led to over 100 peer-reviewed journal publications.

Tracey has had an enduring involvement with the NIHR, having been a member on a number of the Health Technology Assessment funding committees (including the Commissioning Committee, Themed Calls Funding Board, and General Funding board), Member of the NIHR methods fellowship and internships funding panel, a member of the expert panel for Round 4 of the NIHR Economics of Health MSc studentships, and RfPB East of England Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the Marie Curie Research Funding Committee and a past member of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence’s Public Health Intervention Advisory Committee.
