INVOLVE was established in 1996 and is part of, and funded by, the NIHR to support active public involvement in NHS, public health and social care research. It is one of the few government funded programmes of its kind in the world.
As a national advisory group our role is to bring together expertise, insight and experience in the field of public involvement in research, with the aim of advancing it as an essential part of the process by which research is identified, prioritised, designed, conducted and disseminated.
Zoe Gray, Director for INVOLVE
Zoe is the director of INVOLVE which supports active public involvement in NHS, public health and social care research with the aim of advancing it as an essential part of the process by which research is identified, prioritised, designed, conducted and disseminated.
An avid champion of public involvement across research and service delivery, before joining INVOLVE, Zoe was Chief Executive of a charity that helped individuals and families to improve their health and wellbeing and get into work. Before she moved into the charitable sector, Zoe set up and led a £28m European Funding programme at the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). This built upon previous work within local authorities, where Zoe developed and managed strategic international and domestic partnerships and worked with others to design and secure multi-million pound regeneration programmes.
