Making a Difference in COVID-19 research

Bringing to life COVID-19 research

Since the start of the COVID-19 global pandemic, NIHR's number one priority has been to fund and support urgent public health research that can produce evidence to help inform national policy, and enable new diagnostics, treatments and vaccines to be developed and tested. Over 50 studies have now been assigned urgent public health status.

Our portfolio of research projects is helping to discover what works, and what doesn't work, and to drive progress in finding effective treatments, diagnostics and vaccines for COVID-19. There's still plenty of work to do and we look forward to continuing to support and communicate ongoing progress in this area.

See how we are making a difference through reading about some of our nationally prioritised studies.
