Dr Hywel Williams
Hywel is based at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children Biomedical Research Centre (GOSH BRC).
He presented at the Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine on the 6th of March 2018.
'The need for speed - Rapid diagnosis of PICU patients in 5 days using whole genome sequencing.’
Hywel’s work is focused on translating academic research techniques into the clinical environment, specifically genetic diagnostics. His aim was to disseminate this research and open up a dialogue between GOSH and Manchester BRCs.
Katerina is based at the Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care North West Coast (CLAHRC NWC).
Katerina presented at CLAHRC West on the 24th of April 2018.
“How does the social and economic environment affect our mental health? The role of cognitive processes like rumination.’’
Katerina’s work is focused on improving wellbeing and enhancing recovery in the context of psychosis and severe mood disorders amongst people living in disadvantaged socio-economic circumstances. Chris Lodge, a PPI member and Service User Researcher at the Spectrum Centre, joined Katerina at this event. He spoke about the role of Patient and Public involvement and his experience with this project
