Virtual event: NIHR Work and Health Research Development

Date

15 December 2022

Time

14:00 to 16:00

Location

Virtual Event

On Thursday, 15 December from 2 - 4pm, the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) is hosting a virtual event to bring together researchers and interested stakeholders in work and health research. This event is an opportunity to discuss priorities for research in work and health, introduce the planned NIHR Work and Health Development Awards and discuss how the NIHR could further support the work and health community. This will also be an opportunity to network amongst the community and with aligned health and social care researchers.

Our intention is for Development Awards to be smaller awards up to around £120,000 over 8 months to fund preparatory work to develop a future programme of research (e.g. develop collaborations, data access and linking, proof of concept/feasibility work) but broader ranging development work is permitted. More details and the specification for this call will be available in due course, informed by discussion at the 15th December event.

This event is free and open to all: researchers, general public, employers, charities, academics, occupational health professionals, health professionals and any health and work stakeholders or those with an interest in work and health research.

Aims of this event:

  1. Introduce plans for the launch of the NIHR Work and Health Development Awards
  2. Engage and network with the research and stakeholder community in work and health including researchers who may not have considered NIHR as a potential funder
  3. Consider how the NIHR could further support work and health research
