Research excellence depends on effective collaboration. This can be a challenge for leaders, who must focus on collective outcomes whilst managing the individual needs and priorities of colleagues in diverse groups. Remote working and on-screen interactions add a new level of complexity to this challenge.
Our interactive virtual workshop will explore ways to create deep levels of trust and manage conflict productively, for more effective collaboration. During the session you will:
- explore a cohesive collaboration framework focusing on trust and healthy conflict
- consider how to build trust within groups to maintain focus on collective objectives
- identify what what motivates you and use that to help you communicate more effectively
By the end of the session, you’ll have developed a personal action plan to address your current collaboration challenges and help you to develop trust and manage conflict more effectively.
The workshop is open to NIHR research leaders and postdoctoral NIHR Academy Members. It is intended for those who may be developing a leadership career, or for experienced leaders who wish to reflect on their practice and explore new approaches to leadership.
To indicate your interest in participating in this virtual workshop please complete the expression of interest form no later than midday on Tuesday 11 January. If selected, you will receive confirmation of your place by close of business on Tuesday 18 January.
Places are limited to 16 participants. As we expect a high level of demand, places will be allocated to ensure a fair representation across the NIHR leaders community and prioritising those who have not participated in the programme previously.
