The Department of Health and Social Care invites outline proposals for a single research
project to find out how educational interventions can be most effective in improving behaviour
on antimicrobial stewardship in the NHS. This is a significant opportunity to inform policy and
practice in this area of key importance to patients, public and practitioners.
This work should contribute to knowledge of effective practice to address antimicrobial
resistance (AMR) . This is in the context of existing research funded by NIHR and others on
AMR, education, training and effective behaviour change, and research which draws on
behavioural theory to improve intervention effectiveness in healthcare.
