Ensuring rapid access to early scoping work, access to expert advice, and initial underpinning analyses are important elements of PRP work, particularly at the policy development stage and when considering potential impacts. While a number of Policy Research Units already provide such support, the NIHR Policy Research Programme seeks to let an additional contract for capacity to focus entirely on fast, responsive research and analytical activity.
The Department has benefited from a fast response research facility for a number of years. Through this call, the NIHR PRP is seeking to continue to support this capacity to conduct fast, responsive research and analytical work to inform national policy development, implementation and evaluation in health and social care.
