We are interested in building research capacity and generating high-quality research evidence into developing and evaluating innovations focussed on decarbonisation of the health and social care system.

The Public Health Research (PHR) Programme is considering the following topics for future commissioned research.

Applications are invited for Stage 1 proposals to develop programmes of applied health research.

The Academic Clinical Fellowship (ACF) is a clinical specialty training post in medicine that incorporates academic training. 

The SCPRA provides up to 5 years of funding for individuals at the post-doctoral level to engage in research activities

Proposals are welcomed for research that generates evidence that increases the effectiveness of social care, provides value for money and benefits people who need or use social care and carers

The NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship (ACF) is a clinical specialty training post in dentistry that incorporates academic training. 

The NIHR’s flagship Research Professorships scheme is now open for nominations. This 5-year award funds outstanding academics to work at professorial level.

Our flagship career development award for global health researchers, the Global Health Research Professorship, is now open for applications.
