21/61 UK-wide antiviral clinical trial platform in non-hospitalised patients


NIHR are seeking to fund a research consortium to deliver a complex community-based clinical trial platform for antiviral candidates for COVID-19  that could augment the current vaccine and therapeutic programmes.

Due to the urgency of this research applications will be fast-tracked. Applicants will be asked to complete a stage 2 application and there will be a one stage assessment process. Timelines for submitting the proposal will also be very tight. We realise that this is not ideal for applicants, particularly during the Summer holiday period, but unfortunately this is necessary due to the very high degree of urgency of this work.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to present and discuss their application with a funding panel to be conducted virtually during the week commencing the 23rd August 2021 and applicants must be able to provide representation from their team – the panel will then decide the successful team.

A virtual information session for prospective applicants will be held on 29th July 2021 at 2pm.
