Domestic Visiting Speaker Award (VSA)

Find out how the domestic VSA has helped past applicants:

The NIHR GHR PTTA scheme funds awards of up to £3,500 per individual and allows NIHR Academy members based in the NIHR GHR Programmes the opportunity to travel to another part of the NIHR GHR Programmes (within the UK or a LMIC) or wider NIHR for a period of up to two weeks to undertake a personalised presentation/training/networking experience.

The scheme is designed for early career researchers (Masters, PhD/doctoral and postdoctoral) to enhance their personal and professional development, build sustainable links/collaborations and help them succeed in their future career. It is expected that the NIHR GHR PTTA will contribute to enhancing the GHR Programmes outcomes in achieving direct and primary benefit for patients and populations in LMICs.

The NIHR GHR PTTA is funded by Official Development Assistance (ODA) and as such an individual applying for this award must be able to demonstrate how the award will directly and primarily benefit patients and the public in countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Development Assistance Committee List of ODA Recipients (OECD DAC List).

Further details regarding the GHR PTTA award, including eligibility, application/assessment process and the application periods can be found in the Guidance Notes.
