Applications are invited for the In-Practice Fellowship, which provides pre-doctoral academic training. The scheme is part of the Integrated Academic Training (IAT) programme set up to improve career pathways for researchers in both medicine and dentistry.
The NIHR In-Practice Fellowships are designed to support fully-qualified General Practitioners, General Dental Practitioners and Community Dentists who have outstanding potential as a researcher and/or educationalist.
The fellowship funds:
- a personalised programme of academic training (such as a Masters degree)
- salary for 50% of awardees’ time over 24 months (or longer if part-time)
- conference attendance
The Fellowships allow the practitioner to have protected time to develop academic skills and is expected to lead to the preparation of an application for a competitive, peer-reviewed doctoral fellowship.
Fellowships must start on the first of the month and, for this round, will be available to start between 1st September 2023 and 1st December 2023.
