The Public Health Research Programme are accepting Expressions of Interest to:

Public Health Intervention Responsive Studies Teams (PHIRST)

The NIHR Public Health Research (PHR) Programme wishes to facilitate the co-production of responsive research with a focus on local governments. Such research should help inform the delivery and implementation of current or future public health interventions intended to improve the health of the public and reduce inequalities in health. In 2020, the PHR Programme contributed to this ambition by launching a new scheme which commissioned four Public Health Intervention Responsive Studies Teams (PHIRST). Due to the success of the scheme, PHR are now commissioning a fifth team.

The purpose of this call for expressions of interest is to identify one new PHIRST to join the existing four. The new PHIRST will undertake responsive research with a focus on local government across the UK. The teams will be commissioned by the PHR Programme for a 5 year contract.

In order to apply you will need to carefully review the specification document for further information.

The expression of interest should be no longer than three A4 sides and emailed to phr@nihr.ac.uk by 1pm, 15 June 2021. Guidance on what to include in the expression of interest is included within the specification document.
