Add your voice this International Clinical Trials Day

Published: 20 May 2020

Health research and the fantastic teams that deliver this work have been a daily feature in the news for months. But none of this research can happen without members of the public, up and down the country, putting their hands up and getting involved.

That includes more than 70,000 participants taking part in studies looking at COVID-19 treatments, vaccines and risk factors.

In recognition of this amazing contribution by members of the public, we’re marking this year’s International Clinical Trials Day on 20 May, by sharing stories from some of these volunteers about their experience of getting involved. We want to hand over to anyone who has or is playing a part in research, helping them to say why they feel health research is important and what a difference it can make.

Throughout the day we’ll be posting stories from research participants on our Facebook page and Be Part of Research Twitter account - just a handful of the hundreds of thousands people who take part in studies and trials for all conditions each year.

Here’s how you can get involved:

Have you participated in health research? - Share your story by joining the conversation and let others know why health research is important to you on the NIHR Facebook and NIHR Twitter accounts using #BePartofResearch.

You’ll also find information here about COVID-19 research and other ways to get involved from helping design research to donating to a biobank.
