Oldfield Surgery Team

Congratulations to Oldfield Surgery for global first recruitment

Date: 27 November 2017

The Da Vinci Study has now commenced after several months of undertaking feasibility of research sites across Europe. Oldfield Surgery in Bath (UK) was the first Da Vinci site to be initiated, and they also recruited the first patient into the study on 21st June 2017.

The team at the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU) are now working to open the remaining sites in the UK and across Europe as soon as possible.

Oldfield Surgery has a dedicated Clinical Trials team who have been inviting patients to get involved in research for more than 25 years. Nurse Hayley and study co-ordinator Becky work on both academic and commercial studies with six doctors who are all GCP trained.

"We wanted to be the first to recruit to a new study and got on really well with the team at Imperial College to make this happen. Taking part in good quality research can be a very rewarding experience for patients and for staff; we would encourage anyone who is thinking of becoming involved in trials to talk to people who have the relevant experience, to ask for help and support at every opportunity".

Da Vinci is an Amgen-sponsored study in collaboration with Imperial College.
