Now in its fourteenth year The Bright Ideas in Health Awards will take place on 15th November 2017 at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead Hotel. This year, the awards will be delivered by RTC North in partnership with the Clinical Research Network North East and North Cumbria ( CRN NENC) and the Academic Health Science Network (North East and North Cumbria).
The awards brings together our region’s frontline NHS staff, academics and healthcare Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to recognise and celebrate recent ideas and innovations to help make the NHS better.
Justine Smith, Quality Improvement Lead at CRN NENC said:
“The BIHA awards are a great celebration of staff who are passionate about making healthcare work for patients. Applications show the wide range of ways staff are working to improve healthcare, with winners going above and beyond to meet today's healthcare challenges. The event allows these great ideas to be shared and gives inspiration to all attending.”
There are seven categories for the Bright Ideas in Health Awards; Innovative technology or device, Service improvement, Patient safety and quality improvement, Outstanding industry collaboration with the NHS, Primary and community care, Research delivery impact and Most innovative NHS Education provider.
This year CRN NENC are sponsoring the Research Delivery Impact award. This award recognises research delivery teams who demonstrate impact at either study or team level.
Justine Smith said:
“The [Research Delivery Impact] award will showcase our local innovative research delivery teams who influence commissioning and patient pathways; and how involving patients in shaping research projects helps to deliver studies that are important to patients and the NHS.”
