The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) is currently running the fourth Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) after the success of previous courses, which saw over 18,000 registrations.
The fourth MOOC is about 'Improving Healthcare through Clinical Research' which went live for registered learners on 22 May. The course runs for four weeks, but remains open for registrations until 22 June. You can sign up now
The course has been developed in partnership with the University of Leeds and the NIHR Clinical Research Network and is designed for everyone to learn more about research and how it improves healthcare using an online community and interactive resources.
The course is free, and runs over a four week period allowing learner to learn in their own time within their own setting.
Over four weeks the course includes:
- Learning about the roles of different members of a research team
- Hearing from people who have taken part in clinical research studies
- The ethical and scientific principles that underpin the research process
- Getting a better understanding of the challenges of conducting clinical research and the benefits to modern healthcare
