Meeting held for Patient Research Ambassadors in Thames Valley

Date: 12 June 2019

Patient Research Ambassadors from Thames Valley and South Midlands got together last week to discuss successes and plans and learn more about how to promote research.

Ambassadors met with NHS staff at Wokingham Town Hall on 5 June as part of a regular programme of meetings to connect the volunteers with one another and research staff.

Workshops included objectives, engagement ideas and projects ambassadors want to take forward.

There were also talks from Dr Simon Cartwright, of White Horse Medical Practice, Faringdon, Oxfordshire on how ambassadors can promote research in GP practices and Dr Lawrence Matini, on how patients helped plan a study into inflammatory bowel disease.
