The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) has appointed Anthea Mould to the position of Director of Organisational Development and Learning.

Anthea has been in position as interim Director of Workforce, Learning and Organisational Development at the CRN for the past year and following an open competitive recruitment and selection process, was appointed to the permanent post full time in April 2021.

In her role Anthea will shape organisational development and learning across the NIHR Clinical Research Network, encouraging innovation, network learning and the delivery of the highest standard of professional practice across all groups and professions working in the CRN.

After spending 15 years as a practising clinical pharmacist in hospital, industry and community settings, Anthea held senior leadership roles within the NHS and the pharmaceutical industry. She joined the NIHR in 2012 and her interest in people, combined with her experience in transformation and change, led to her becoming a certified Organisation Development Practitioner and her role as Head of People, Improvement and Innovation in the CRNCC.

Dr William van’t Hoff, Chief Executive of the NIHR Clinical Research Network said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Anthea Mould as the NIHR Clinical Research Network’s new Director of Organisation Development and Learning. Anthea has done an excellent job in her interim position, her passion about people being an organisation’s most important resource is evident and she will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the role.”

On her appointment, Anthea said: “I am delighted to be offered the role of Director of Organisational Development and Learning. People are at the heart of our work, and we have the most amazing talent across the NIHR, including the patients and public who support us and our partners across the public sector, charities and industry.

“As a people centric organisation we shall continue to seek and develop the best talent, capitalise on the energy of our common purpose shown through the pandemic and take the organisation from strength to strength. We have a bright future ahead of us and I'm excited to be a part of that journey.”
