A new strategy highlighting the direction of travel for Clinical Research Nurses is to be released in October 2017, and has recently been discussed in an interview with the Nursing Times.
The strategy, led by Dr Susan Hamer, NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) Director of Nursing, Learning and Organisational Development, and two NIHR Clinical Research Nurses, will focus on several new areas including the use of digital technology for the clinical research nurse workforce up to 2020, and will emphasise the role of Clinical Research Nurses in delivering quality research in the NHS.
Clare Meachin is one of the nurses working closely with Dr Susan Hamer to develop the strategy for Clinical Research Nursing. Clare is Deputy Chief Operating Officer from CRN South London and was recently interviewed by the The Nursing Times to provide an insight into the new strategy.

The 2017-2020 Clinical Research Nurse strategy will be published on the Clinical Research Nurses section of the NIHR website on 4 October 2017.
