NIHR CRN Cancer specialty first global and first European patient successes

The NIHR Clinical Research Network Cancer specialty has achieved two first global patients, both at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. One was in a myeloma study on 5 April 2017, the other was achieved on 7 September 2017 in a lymphoma study.

The Cancer specialty also achieved a first European patient in a non-small cell lung cancer study on 21 August 2017 at Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.

Recruiting a first global or first European patient is a key performance indicator for the life-sciences industry in clinical research delivery as it shows the Network can support the rapid set-up and recruitment of studies.
