Research Activity Integration (CPMS/LPMS) - phase 2 go live

Research Activity Integration (CPMS/LPMS) - phase 2 go live

The NIHR Clinical Research Network is pleased to announce that the latest phase of the Research Activity Integration Project (CPMS/LPMS) has  successfully been implemented (as of 2 September 2019) - marking an important milestone in this key project and introducing new functionality for researchers.

Completion of phase 2 of this key project - which is improving the way research activity data is shared - means that data that has been electronically provided by participating sites in their Local Portfolio Management Systems (LPMS) can now be reviewed and confirmed by study team representatives directly in the Central Portfolio Management System (CPMS), further improving data quality.

This is a significant achievement for the NIHR CRN - placing the UK at the forefront of digital innovations within this area, enabling the organisation to provide near real-time visibility of research activity data for thousands of studies on the NIHR CRN Portfolio.

Dr Clare Morgan, Research Delivery Director and the NIHR Clinical Research Network said: “Having near real-time data confirmed by the study team on a monthly basis, for research conducted within health and social care settings as a collective will be a huge advantage in a global market, with increased research activity improving the health and wealth of the nation.

“The delivery of this new way of working showcases a huge achievement of the collaborative efforts delivered between LCRNs, Devolved Administrations, all LPMS providers, PA Consulting and the CRN Coordinating Centre. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a very big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has made this possible.”
