Researchers from all over the West Midlands gathered at the Everyman Cinema in Birmingham for the Clinical Research Network West Midlands’ second Annual Awards on 11 October.
Trophies were presented in 13 categories including Clinical Research Impact, Team of the Year and Collaboration in Research.
Guest speakers at the ceremony, which was attended by over 100 people, were well-known NHS commentator Roy Lilley, and the Network’s own Patient Research Ambassador, Anne Devrell.
The Network’s Clinical Director Professor Jeremy Kirk, who presented the Awards, said: ‘The aim of the event is to celebrate the wide range of high quality clinical research taking place in our region and it was great to see so many Trusts represented amongst the winners.
‘This is the second year of the Awards and the standard of entries was very high again this year, giving the judges a real challenge. We congratulate all the winners and those who were highly commended.’
David Loughton CBE, Chief Executive of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT), which hosts the Network, added: ‘It’s always a pleasure to present these Awards and get an insight into the great research that’s going on. I am particularly pleased that RWT was well represented!’
