Welcome and Introductions
Professor Tom Solomon (Co-Chair) officially welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked them for serving on the RIGHT Funding Committee. The Committee introduced themselves.
Background and Scope of RIGHT Call 4
Ms Stephanie Russell gave an overview of DHSC’s global health research portfolio and Dr Mike Rogers summarised remit, scope of the call and the call assessment criteria (see slides). The Funding Committee was shown a short video on Unconscious Bias produced by the Royal Society.
Details and purpose of the meeting and process for assessing applications
Professor Nhan Tran (Co-Chair) informed the Funding Committee about the process for accessing the applications and the purpose of the meeting (i.e. to make funding recommendations to DHSC), followed by a demonstration of Zoom voting by the CCF Secretariat (Ms Bronwyn Mathews) (see slides).
All the global health generalists and subject matter expert Funding Committee Members scored all the applications, unless they were conflicted or absent. Two Community Engagement and Involvement Committee Members scored each application.
