The Clinical Research Network North East and North Cumbria (CRN NENC) offers a range of services to help support the delivery of high quality clinical research in the region.

Study Delivery Teams

We have three teams to support research delivery, each covering two of the CRN divisions (or clinical specialty areas) and each team includes staff with expertise in Chief Investigator support, study set up, commercial studies and primary care.

Learning and Development

We are committed to delivering high quality training to NHS research staff throughout our region that are involved in the conduct of studies accepted onto the NIHR CRN Portfolio.

Access to such training enables research staff to understand their own roles and responsibilities and to conduct studies to the highest ethical and scientific standards.

MedConNecT North - A bespoke service to SMEs, National and International Medical Technology Companies

MedConNecT North aims to offer a bespoke service to SMEs, National and International Medical Technology Companies, providing guidance and assistance throughout the Medical Technology Research and Innovation Pathway. The group supports companies to form partnerships with Academia and the NHS in the North East and North Cumbria region. In addition, MedConNecT North supports NHS staff to encourage, drive and develop innovation, within their organisation.

MedConNecT North is a joint initiative supported by the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network North East and North Cumbria and the North East and North Cumbria Academic Health Science Network.
