The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) South London helps to increase the opportunities for patients to take part in clinical research, which will lead to better treatments now and in the future.
The CRN South London also supports the Government’s Strategy for UK Life Sciences by improving the environment for commercial contract clinical research in the NHS in the South London area.
We are passionate about the contribution that clinical research can make to patient care, and work collaboratively with other NHS providers to translate that passion into the effective delivery of studies in the area.
Our aim is that clinical research occupies the place it deserves to in the day-to-day work of the NHS across the South London area. This includes Trusts, Primary Care Organisations and other qualified providers of NHS services. The principles of the NIHR along with the core values of our Partner Organisations runs through everything we do.

We’re hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust although we work with every Trust in the South London area as well as every Clinical Commissioning Group in the area.

Working with Partner Organisations, we provide the practical support that researchers in South London need to carry out high quality clinical and other health-related research studies in the NHS.
The current Funding Model for 2019/20 in CRN South London was agreed by at the Partnership Board on 28 November 2016 and is based on five principles recommended by the Funding Sub-Group.
