Clinical Research Staff

Clinical research staff deliver and support research led by others. They undertake such activities as enrolling patients in studies, collecting or processing data and analysing tissue samples. They include clinical and clinical support staff, and scientific, laboratory, technical and administrative staff.  Clinical research staff are the largest member group of the NIHR Faculty and are supported through the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) and other parts of the NIHR infrastructure.

The CRN provides support for clinical research staff delivering research on the ground in the NHS. Clinical research staff can be supported through a variety of funding arrangements, and all are eligible to access our learning and development opportunities.
