Dr Kate Holmes's aim as Head of Collaborations is to maximise the value of NIHR’s investment in research infrastructure by ensuring the infrastructure are working together in a coordinated way to support high quality clinical research.
Prior to joining the NOCRI team, Kate was Director of Research at Stroke Association, a charity working to prevent stroke, support everyone touched by stroke, fund research, and campaign for the rights of stroke survivors of all ages. Kate also has experience in senior research management roles at Prostate Cancer UK.
Now working for the NIHR, Kate uses her experience in research, planning, and relationship management to coordinate the NIHR’s collaborations with industry and other partners.
During her earlier career, Kate completed a PhD in Molecular Microbiology at Nottingham Trent University and then went on to a Postdoctoral Research Scientist role at the Institute of Food Research.
