Dr Sophia Lentzos
Dr Sophia Lentzos is NIHR Head of Sustainability.
Sophia is responsible for embedding environmental sustainability across the NIHR's work. She is also accountable for meeting the NIHR’s net zero target.
Before joining NIHR, Sophia trained as a medical doctor and worked as an anaesthetist.
Sophia has a lifelong passion for environmental causes and sustainability. In 2021-2022, she became one of the first cohort of Chief Sustainability Officer’s Clinical Fellows in Greener NHS. In this role she worked on sustainable medicines and helped form a national working group for sustainable anaesthesia.
