Professor Roberts is Professor of Medicine for Older People at the University of Southampton and Honorary Consultant in Geriatric Medicine; Lead for Ageing and Dementia Theme NIHR CLAHRC Wessex; and faculty member of the NIHR Southampton Biomedical Research Centre.
Professor Roberts trained in medicine at the University of Birmingham and after general medical training specialised in geriatric medicine. She has a clinical practice as a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine at University Hospital Southampton, where she runs a movement disorders service. She was previously the Director of the South Coast Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases research network 2009-14.
Her research interests focus on the identification and management of frailty, sarcopenia, poor nutrition and low physical activity in older people and those with Parkinson’s disease.
