Professor Jo Rycroft-Malone is Programme Director and Chair of the Health Services and Delivery Research (HS&DR) Programme.
She is Professor of Health Services and Implementation Research, and Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research & Impact at Bangor University. Jo is also the Chair of the National Institute for Care and Health Excellence (NICE) Implementation Strategy Group, and is a Senior Research Leader for Health and Care Research Wales.
Jo has established an international reputation for mixed methods research that helps to both explain and bridge the evidence – practice gap. Funding for her research has come from a variety of competitive sources including the EU’s FP7 Programme, NIHR, Economic & Social Research Council, Medical Research Council and Canadian Institutes for Health Research. Jo has accumulated a body of research that resulted in her being listed by Thomson Reuters one of the world’s highly cited researchers. Jo has been appointed as a sub-panel member for unit of assessment 3 – allied health professions, dentistry, nursing and pharmacy for REF2021.
Jo is also a member of the NIHR Strategy Board.
