The Co-Chair, Professor Kath Maitland officially welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced herself. 

Background and scope of RIGHT Call 6

Dr Mike Rogers, Assistant Director, Global Health Research and Dr Inesa Thomsen, Head of Global Health Research Programmes, DHSC, gave an introduction to the scheme (see slides).

Purpose of the meeting and process for accessing applications

Dr Mike Rogers informed the Funding Committee about the process for assessing the applications and the purpose of the meeting; to make recommendations to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) on which applications should proceed to Stage 2 and which applications should be declined at Stage 1.
