Reporting impact

You need to submit qualitative and quantitative data on the outputs, outcomes and impact of research we have funded. For NIHR-funded research, you need to do this annually and for five years after the end of the funding award.

Submit your report through Researchfish, an online data collection platform used by research funders globally:

Researchfish

When to submit your report

You need to submit your report each Spring. UK Higher Education Establishments and funders set the dates each year.

Who can submit the report?

The Principal Investigator needs to verity and sign off the outputs, outcomes and impacts for their awards and confirm that the information given is correct and can be used by the NIHR.

The Principal Investigator can delegate data entry to colleagues in their team.

Updating multiple awards

Any data entered is included in the researcher's portfolio so if an output, outcome or impact is relevant to more than one award it can be attributed easily across multiple awards without the need for duplicate entry.
