Summary

We support and promote cancer research that covers all stages of the disease and treatments available.

By collaborating with key partners, we have integrated clinical research into NHS services and can deliver clinical trials that change practice and improve patient outcomes. Our partners include Cancer Research UK (CRUK), the European Organisation for the Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) and the relevant Royal Colleges.

National priority areas

Our national priority areas for research are:

  • late phase trials
  • early phase trials
  • radiotherapy and imaging
  • surgical oncology
  • children and young people's cancer
  • supportive care and community-based research
