The Public Health Research programme is seeking to appoint Senior/experienced Representatives from the UK voluntary and charity sector to its Prioritisation Committee.
Programme Manager (Fixed Term until 31 March 2023)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Academy as a Programme Manager in the Infrastructure and Capacity Building Structures team.
This team works across four work streams, NIHR Infrastructure, NIHR Schools, NIHR Incubators and NIHR Global Health Research Programmes. The Programme Manager will be working closely with others to deliver a pre-agreed programme of support and activities, including providing support to Senior Programme Managers. You must be an excellent communicator with the ability to prioritise, schedule and manage the delivery of a complex, wide ranging, time-critical and unpredictable workload. You must be able to develop good working relationships with a range of external stakeholders and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
You will need to have significant experience within an office environment with a high level of interpersonal and communications skills. You will also need advanced computer skills in particular in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Proficient in the use of email and Google G-Suite applications. Previous experience of working in an ODA (Official Development Assistance) compliant or global health environment would be advantageous.

The NIHR Academy plays a pivotal role in attracting, training and supporting the best researchers and complements the additional NIHR investment in world-class research facilities and a skilled research workforce.
The NIHR Academy Executive is hosted by the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT) and delivers the work of the NIHR Academy, leading on policy, strategy and delivery in respect of academic training in England and working closely with other NIHR centres and the Science Research and Evidence (SRE) Directorate at the DHSC.
Please note during the current pandemic, all NIHR Academy Executive staff are working from home and have been provided with the necessary equipment for them to do this. At present, we do not have a date the office will re-open however, this will be in accordance with Government guidelines and any local lockdown restrictions.
