The Director of Science, Research and Evidence for the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is looking to select an exceptional person to be the Programme Director of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Services and Delivery Research (HS&DR) Programme, to succeed Professor Jo Rycroft-Malone who comes to the end of her tenure at the end of November 2021.
Rheumatologist (Ref - HTAPC/21/10)
The NIHR Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme is seeking to appoint members to its prioritisation committees.
This opportunity is for a Rheumatologist.
The purpose of the HTA prioritisation committees is to support the identification, development and evaluation of potential research questions for the commissioned workstream of the HTA Programme.
Prioritisation committees cover the HTA Programme’s remit to fund research on the clinical and cost-effectiveness and broader impact of healthcare treatments and tests for those who plan, provide or receive care in the NHS and social care services.
The Programme is keen to attract applications from individuals currently in an active clinical role, and is particularly interested in expanding its membership to include expertise in the area of primary and secondary prevention, as well as experience of working with social care services.
The term of office is normally four years with a planned start during the second half of 2021. The committees meet three times a year, usually in March, July and November.
NIHR is committed to a supportive, inclusive, caring, and positive community. We warmly welcome those of different cultures, ages, ethnicities, and beliefs. Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to our values and vital to our success. We are currently looking to diversify and enrich our committees. We particularly welcome applications from disabled candidates and candidates from an ethnic minority background as they are currently under-represented.
