Are you looking for free and confidential support with your research applications?
The National Institute for Health and Care Research offers support to researchers who are applying for research funding.
This is provided through our NIHR Research Support Service, the RSS. The RSS is a free national service providing advice on the development of funding applications including clinical, applied, public health and social care research. Support from the RSS is available for researchers across England applying to open and peer-reviewed research programmes and training awards.
The RSS can also provide support for non NIHR funded research such as through other funders, local authorities and charities as long as this falls within the research remit of the NIHR. The service is delivered collaboratively by eight RSS hubs across the country and has access to a broad range of expertise. These hubs can provide advice for the entire research life cycle all the way from pre-application to post award delivery including advice on study design and delivery, public involvement and inclusive research and signposting to other sources of support.
The RSS can also provide opportunities for collaboration with experienced researchers to help build the dream research team. We know that people applying for public health or social care research funding in non NHS settings may not always be applying to open peer-reviewed funding programmes. The RSS specialist centres for public health and for social care offer advice and guidance for anyone wanting to find out more about research in this context and provide support to develop applications for funding.
The NIHR RSS is here to support your research ambitions creating an environment where health and social care research can thrive and those we support can tackle the health and care challenges of our time through research and ultimately benefit patients, service users and the wider public. To find out more about how we can help you and to access support from the RSS all of the information you need is on the NIHR website and our social media channels.
