Workshop: Agile Working and Staying Flexible

Time

Location

Overview

Being in control and overplanning can feel safe, but these traits can easily become silent killers to success by hampering innovation and blocking new opportunities. In today’s VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) world, leaders need to step back and look at the bigger picture. A picture that contains constant and inevitable change. We want to feel safe, but we don’t want to get stuck - plan to F.L.E.X. instead.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Learn about the paradox of agile thinking and how this impacts leader’s day to day.
  • Explore what enables leaders to flourish and be their best selves at work.
  • Discover the surprising benefits that uncertainty can bring and how to be comfortable with discomfort.
  • Consider the importance of being ready for, and seeking out, change and new opportunities.
  • Recognise the implications of ‘group think’ on agile working and ways we can extend our inner circle.

Applications for the workshop will close 12pm Friday 13 September 2024 however we reserve the right to close the application form early in the event of oversubscription. If selected, you will receive confirmation of your place by close of business Wednesday 18 September 2024.

Please note that places are limited to 20 participants per workshop. Therefore we cannot guarantee everyone who expresses interest will be allocated a place. Places will be allocated to ensure a fair representation across the NIHR community, and we strongly encourage you to utilise the word count in section 5 to articulate how attending the workshop will benefit you.
