Personal data submitted for online events is collected by the NIHR Academy. The purpose of collecting this data is for event management,post-event management and evaluation purposes for NIHR Academy online events.

The lawful basis for collecting this information by NIHR Academy is consent. No identifiable information will be used in any public reports relating to the event.

The NIHR Academy may contact you post-event to share online event materials with you after which your details will be destroyed. The event platform may collect cookies which are subject to their Privacy Policy.

The NIHR Academy is part of the NIHR which is funded by the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC). DHSC is the Data Controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) EC 2016/679.

Your data will not be used for purposes other than that set out in this notice and not retained for any other purpose.

The NIHR Privacy Policy includes further information on how the NIHR may use your data, NIHR’s contact details and details on your individual rights regarding how your data is used. Online events

By participating in NIHR Academy online events personal data may be recorded. Recorded online events may be republished on one of NIHR’s video and online learning platforms.

The event platform Privacy Policy may apply for live unrecorded online events. The NIHR Privacy Policy applies to any recorded online events.

Recorded online events

If you don’t want to be recorded you can turn your camera off. While audiences are not visible during online webinar events, using the chat function will identify the person asking the question. If you do not wish to be identified, please make any comments as anonymous, or send a private message to the host.
