The co-chairs officially welcomed everyone to the meeting and introduced themselves.

Recap: Purpose of the meeting and process for accessing applications

The Co-chair Professor Nhan Tran reminded the Funding Committee about the process for assessing the applications and the purpose of the meeting previously discussed at the pre-committee meeting briefing held on the 7th September 2022: to make recommendations to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) on which applications should proceed to Stage 2 and which applications should be rejected at Stage 1.
